Autumn in Girona is not only synonymous with rains and chestnuts. The city is full of performing arts, artistic festivals and people from all over the world who do not want to miss it. These are special dates for Girona residents, since it is one of the times of the year to enjoy Girona more than ever. From the 25th of October to the 3rd of November, the Sant Narcís Festival is held. But that is not all. What can we do in Girona during the autumn?
The Sitges Film Festival finishes and Acocollona't arrives, the fantastic and horror movie week of Girona. The festival begins on Friday October 11th and ends on Saturday October 19th with the award's ceremony at the La Mercè Cultural Centre. The festival invites us to attend the screening of the short films that participate in the contest and, of course, to the traditional Zombie Walk that will take place on Halloween evening at Plaça del Vi.
For Girona's Fires you need to take advantage of the many events offered by the city's festival. For example, visit for free most of the museums and some emblematic Girona buildings, such as the Museum of Jewish History, the Cinema Museum, the Generalitat Headquarters and many more!
Every autumn and for the last 28 years, Girona and Salt have become one of the best theater stages in southern Europe. During October, November and December the city will host the best of the European scene and all the new productions of the Catalan theater thanks to the Temporada Alta festival.
