Fans of circus, stunts, balancing and juggling are in luck. The Elefant d'Or International Circus Festival returns to Girona from February 13 to 18, with various shows - Blue, Red and Gold. For the third consecutive year, La Devesa is hosting one of the world leaders in its discipline, as it is the only international circus festival in Catalonia and the country, and one of the 5 most important in the world.

After the success of the eight previous editions of the festival, with an audience of more than 215,000 people, this year the goal is the same: to bring the best circus arts to the forefront with artists from around the world. Elefant d'Or invites the 24 best performances of the European season, which will compete to get the recognition of the best circus show in Europe. The format consists of two semi-finals (Blue and Red shows) and the final (Gold show), where a renowned international circus expert jury will award the best of the best artists in the discipline.
The 9th Elefant d'Or International Circus Festival is a major attraction for circus professionals and programmers around the world. But so is for the audience, of all ages, nationalities and financial possibilities. This year, the festival celebrates the 50th anniversary of the arrival of Russian companies in Catalonia.
Soon we will be able to see 84 artists from around the world in 24 acts of all types of circus skills: juggling, aerial silk, balancing, trapeze, unicycle, buffoonery, acrobatics, aerial pole, Korean plank, cup throwing, Russian bar, Korean cradle and malambo. Leading companies in the discipline worldwide, such as Royal Circus, Circo Hnos. Gasca, Great Moscow State Circus, Diamond Sakha Circus & Chernov Creation, Rosgoscyrk Co, State Circus of Almaty and other international artists will be in charge of amazing the audience at the Camp de Mart Great Marquee.
This year Girona will host for the first time several internationally recognized artists in the circus scene. New circus acts include the sextet Argendance Girl (malambo; unicyclists of the Yinchuan Acrobatic Troupe of China (cup throwing); the incredible tightrope walker with the world record for stools on the head; and the duo on aerial "Red Sails" with their flights.
