Near the Old Quarter and next to the Sant Daniel Valley you can breathe an atmosphere of calm and tranquillity. The John Lennon Gardens stand out as an intimate place with a very special charm: the green of the palm trees and the cypresses, the electric blue of the benches and the stone colour of the refinements of the famous Girona Wall. And of course, we cannot forget the almond trees, which during the spring paint the gardens pastel pink. At the highest point, you can find a small viewpoint, where you can see a bird’s eye view of the Cathedral of Girona.
We continue talking about the gardens in Girona; this time, it is the turn of the Germans' Gardens. The old barracks of the German mercenary soldiers is now a site with totally different purposes. This is one of the most renowned places in Girona to host dates, since the relaxed atmosphere, the birds' song and the lush vegetation invite you to stroll and stay there with your loved one. Within the Gardens there is also the Torre del Llamp tower, where you can see views of Girona from a privileged viewpoint, contemplating all the surrounding nature. The Germans' Gardens, in addition, host numerous recreational and cultural events during the year, such as the Tempo Festival.
