Use of Cookies

The website hotelsultoniagirona.com uses “Cookies”, and other similar mechanisms (hereinafter, Cookies). Cookies are files sent to a browser through a web server to record the User’s activities on a specific website (hereinafter, the Services). The first purpose of Cookies is to provide the user with faster access to the selected Services. In addition, Cookies personalise the Services, facilitating and offering each User information that is of interest to them or that may be of interest to them, based on their use of the Services.

Cookies are used to personalise and facilitate User navigation as much as possible. Cookies are only associated with an anonymous User and their computer and do not provide references that allow the User’s personal data to be deduced. The User may configure their browser to notify and reject the installation of the Cookies sent, without affecting the User’s ability to access the Content. However, we point out that, in all cases, the quality of operation of the website may decrease.

Type, purpose and operation of the Cookies:

Cookies can be divided into session or permanent cookies, depending on their permanence. The first ones expire when the User closes the browser. The second ones expire depending on when the objective for which they serve is fulfilled or when they are manually deleted.
Additionally, depending on their objective, Cookies can be classified as follows:

PERFORMANCE COOKIES: This type of Cookie remembers your preferences for the tools found in the Services, so you do not have to reconfigure the service each time you visit. As an example, this type includes:

Volume settings for video or sound players.
The video transmission speeds that are compatible with your browser.
The objects stored in the “shopping cart” in E-commerce Services such as stores.

GEO-LOCATION COOKIES: These Cookies are used to find out which country you are in when a Service is requested. This Cookie is completely anonymous, and is only used to help guide the content to your location.

REGISTRATION COOKIES: Registration Cookies are generated once the User has registered or subsequently opened their session, and are used to identify them in the Services with the following objectives:

Keep the User identified so that, if they close a Service, the browser or the computer, and at another time or on another day re-enters said Service, they will continue to be identified, thus facilitating their navigation without having to re-identify themselves. This functionality can be suppressed if the User presses the “close session” functionality, so that this Cookie is eliminated and the next time the User enters the Service, the User will have to log in to be identified.

Check whether the User is authorised to access certain Services. Additionally, some Services may use links to social networks such as Facebook or Twitter. When the User registers for a Service with credentials from a social network, they authorise the social network to save a persistent Cookie that remembers their identity and guarantees access to the Services until it expires. The User can delete this Cookie and revoke access to the Services through social networks by updating their preferences in the specific social network.

ANALYTICAL COOKIES: Every time a User visits a Service, a tool from an external provider (WordPress, etc.) generates an analytical Cookie on the User’s computer. This Cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will serve in future visits to the Services to anonymously identify the visitor. The main objectives are:

Allow the anonymous identification of browser Users through the “Cookie” (identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore the approximate count of the number of visitors and their trend over time.

Anonymously identify the most visited content and therefore the most attractive for Users. Know if the User who is accessing is new or a repeat visit.

Important: Unless the User decides to register for a Service, the “Cookie” will never be associated with any personal data that can identify them.

Said Cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that help to optimize the User’s experience on the site.

How to disable Cookies on the main browsers:

All modern browsers allow you to change the cookie settings. These settings are usually found in the ‘Options’ or ‘Preferences’ of your browser menu.
